The Dovekeepers by Alice Hoffman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This book is so beautifully written. The flow of the book is smooth and I love how the lives of the 4 women intertwine with one another. However, as the book is set in a very heavy tone, it is not one that is easy to read.
The book had started slow but it picked up for me from Aziza's story onwards and it is filled with emotions & tears. I felt so depressed and heartbroken when I was reading the scene where the Jews killed each other so that they will die in honor instead of being humiliated and enslaved by the Romans.
